5 Exercises That Will Help You Stay Fit and Healthy During Pregnancy

It is important to stay fit and healthy, especially during pregnancy. Women who exercise during pregnancy don’t just stay fit, but also have more energy, experience less back pain, and return to their original body shape much faster post-delivery.

If you are healthy, the baby you are carrying will also be healthy. And being a surrogate, you have double responsibility.

Here are a few exercises that will help you stay healthy and fit during pregnancy:

1.      Yoga

Yoga is not only relaxing but also improves your posture and muscle conditioning. All of these things will be essential for the later stages of your pregnancy, especially during labor. The breathing exercises will be very helpful while giving birth. And not only that, your lungs and heart will be active.

You can do yoga at home, or join a class. Doing yoga outside will have better as it will give you a change of environment as well as a bout of fresh air.

2.      Walking

Walking is the easiest form of exercise. The more you walk, the more fit you will be. But be careful and don’t overdo it; you don’t want it to put a toll on your body.

A nice and refreshing walk in the park will keep you fresh as a daisy without putting any strain on your ankles or knees. A 30-minute walk every day would be great for your health.

You can even invite the baby’s parents to join you. This will give you the time to bond with them.

3.      Aerobics

Aerobics is the perfect exercise for when you are pregnant. Aerobics strengthen your lungs and heart and also maintains your muscle tone. When you are doing aerobics, make sure that you exclude the fast running, leaps, and kicks off the schedule and go for a low-impact workout. It will not stress your joints and will assist you with your balance.

4.      Swimming

Swimming will not only help you beat the summer heat but will also provide you with a better range of motion. And the best part is that it will not strain your knees or ankles. You can get your cardio workout through swimming.

Swimming will also condition and strengthen your muscles. If you are not into swimming you can do other activities like water aerobics.

5.      Stationary Cycling

Cycling builds your muscles and increases your heart rate. And when you do it on a stationary bike, you won’t have to deal with achy joints.

Since the bike will be stationary, chances of falling down are off the table. And the bike will also help support your body weight, so you can do this exercise during any trimester.

Make sure you do all these exercises religiously when you are pregnant. If you are thinking of applying to be a surrogate, Edwards Surrogate have all the information you need.
